Morning Car Riders: Car riders may enter the building at 7:20 a.m. You will know when they may enter the building when a staff member reports to duty in the front entrance. Children should enter the doors near the cafeteria at this time and either report to the cafeteria for breakfast or to the gym until the 7:30 a.m. bell rings. Breakfast ends at 7:45 a.m. After 7:30 a.m. children should enter the school through the main doors and report directly to their classroom or the cafeteria. The children must exit on the right side of the vehicle. Please pull all the way down to the designated sign to allow more children to exit at a time. Never leave your vehicle unattended in what we call the express lane (next to the sidewalk). If you need to come in the school, you must park in a designated space in the parking lot. In order to park in the designated handicap spaces you must display the appropriate decal at all times. If you arrive at 7:55 a.m. or after and see the “School In Session” sign hung, you must come in the office to sign the child in. This ensures the safety and accountability of your child.
Afternoon Car Riders: Car riders will be dismissed after all buses have been loaded. It normally takes less than 5 minutes for bus riders to load. We will announce when car riders can leave. Car riders will be escorted to the sidewalk at the front entrance. Parents should not come into the school and wait for school to be dismissed. Parents are reminded to stay in their vehicles and to pull down to the designated sign before stopping to pick up a student. Parents may not park their vehicles in the express lane or anywhere where there is not a designated parking spot. Please be considerate of the designated handicap spaces. For your child’s safety, they should enter the vehicle from the passenger’s side. Please practice patience and safety during afternoon pick-up. The children will be taught to wait until their vehicles pull down as far as they can before loading. Please make arrangements so that your child is not left in doubt about how they are to get home. Please be on time. The traffic will be congested for only a few minutes but usually it clears up within 10 minutes after the car riders are dismissed. If you arrive after 2:55 p.m. you must come into the office to sign out your child as a late pick-up. Please call the office if you are running late.
