 Rockingham County Middle School

About Our School

    Rockingham County Middle School is located between the towns of Reidsville, NC and Wentworth, NC in central Rockingham County. Both Reidsville and Wentworth are rural communities with the economy generated primarily from textiles and farming. Rockingham County Middle School has been a part of Rockingham County Schools since 1999. The faculty and staff serve approximately 900 students in grades 6-8. The school has achieved exemplary status on the North Carolina end-of-grade testing at the end of each school year. For the 2003 - 2004 school year, Rockingham County Middle was a School of Excellence with Honors.
    Core classes offer a rich curriculum in all subject areas. Higher level language arts and math classes are available for advanced coursework. Elective offerings include band, chorus, art, dance, spanish, and life opportunities.
    All instructional rooms and offices have Internet access. Throughout the building, there is an instructional computer for every 10 students. Two flexibly scheduled labs and several work-force development labs offer opportunities for students to complete multimedia products and hands-on learning.
     The school places great emphasis in keeping our technology updated as we offer students learning opportunities in 21st Century Classrooms.
