Ms. Erselle Young, Principal |
![]() Ms. Young joined the RMS family this year and has worked as a school administrator for the past 8 years. She has 13 years of combined work experience in Rockingham and Henry County as an elementary, middle, and community college educator. She received her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Saint Paul's College. Her masters degrees are in Business Administration (Averett University) and School Administration (Appalachian State University). RMS is proud to have Ms. Young as its leader and the students and staff enjoy the way she starts off every morning with such enthusiastic announcements. |
Mrs. Karen Hester - Assistant Principal |
Mrs. Hester joined the RMS family this year and has worked in the education arena for 14 years. She received her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from High Point University and her Masters in School Administration from Appalachian State. She feels that all children can learn, just not in the same way and on the same day. "It is our job as educators to facilitate student learning utilizing as many means possible". |
Mr. Melvin Martin - Assistant Principal |
Mr. Martin, assistant principal, has been a valuable member of RMS for four years. He previously worked for Henry County Schools in Virginia. Mr. Martin is a reader and takes great interest in teaching methods and strategies that assist students with achievement. He is the 8th grade level administrator. |
