Bethany Elementary is a rural school located in southwestern Rockingham County. Our brand new state of the art facility serves students in PreK -5 grade. Grade levels are housed in colored hallways. Red hall houses PreK, K, and 1 st. Blue hall houses 2nd, 3rd, and computer lab. Green hall houses 4th and 5th grades.
Bethany follows the traditional calendar and the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. Bethany's staff strives to provide more than the state of North Carolina requires because our teachers believe that a well-rounded student will be a successful one. Students have access to a well stocked media center. Library/Information Skills, Music, Physical Education, Computer Lab Guidance and Art are all a part of the enrichment courses offered as integral parts of the curriculum. The use of technology is evident in the classroom and the computer lab.
A variety of speakers and guests visit during the school year. Special activities include a May Day Celebration, Cultural Diversity Program, Good Character recognition and many academic awards presentations.

Bethany is a PreK -5 community school with an enrollment of 457, and a staff of 66. The school continues to excel in testing. As well as a strong academic program it also possesses an active PTA. The community sponsors a baseball/softball league, fall soccer league, football & cheerleader programs, and basketball league. The school serves as the hub of the community.
