| August 27, 2012 Dear Parents/Guardians: I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to a new school year here at Dillard Elementary School. This is the beginning of our third week of school and our students are adjusting to new routines, procedures, expectations, and one another. As we look forward to working with you throughout the year, I want to invite you to our PTO/Title I/Grade Level Expectations evening on Thursday, September 6.
We know that you may have many questions and we want to assure you that we will communicate with you often. At our PTO/Title I/Grade Level meeting, all grade level teachers and staff will be available to share our district and school philosophy and Common Core curriculum expectations. This will be an important informative meeting for all students and parents.
The evening will begin with a brief meeting of our Parent Teacher Organization and will include information on the PTO’s annual fundraiser. Students will receive this information in school; however, we will be able to answer any questions you may have regarding this fundraising activity. It will be followed by an overview of our Title I Program, classroom presentations at all grade levels, and finally, we will gather in our cafeteria for a hot light meal and recognition of our Grandparents.
We extend a warm welcome to you and thank you for your patience and support as we move forward this school year. We look forward to meeting with you on September 6th at 6:00 pm. Sincerely, Rose M. Rolan Principal |
