Dear Parents and/or Guardians,

     WOW!!! It is so hard to believe that this is the final newsletter. This year has flown by and we have seen lots of growth and improvements here at Draper Elementary. A special thanks to the entire student body, faculty, and parents for all of your hard work and dedication. 

     May will be a busy month as we start our end of the year assessments. Third through fifth grade students will test in reading and math on May 14^th and 15^th. Our fifth graders will take their EOG Science test on May 16^th. Please use the material that we sent home during EOG Night to work with your child at home to prepare for the tests. Each morning students will be feed breakfast here at Draper. Please encourage your child to get lots of rest during this time and if you bring your child to school, please try to have them here on time. Testing will start promptly at 8:15a.m. If you are looking for additional resources to help your child at home, please check out our school webpage, the teacher’s webpage, or contact your child’s teacher by phone. 

     Also in May, we will have some special events to celebrate your child’s success. Please listen to the AlertNow messages that will be coming home throughout the month, and check your child’s book bag for any memos from the school. Such events will include Pastries for Parents, the Book Character Parade, Field Day, and awards days for all grade levels.

     May 6^th – 10^th we will recognize Staff Appreciation Week. Join me in thanking all the staff members at Draper for working hard everyday to ensure that every child strives to be successful.

     Remember to encourage and talk with your students about the upcoming EOG’s. This will be their time to shine and show off what they have learned this year. The last day of school is May 24^th (students will be dismissed at 12:15).
