Principal, Mrs. Susan Barham

Mrs. Barham  About Susan Barham

I spent my school years growing up in Randolph County.  As a Randleman High Tiger, I went to school with some of the kids from the (Richard) Petty family; that was certainly a great experience.

I started my career in education as a teaching assistant in the Thomasville City Schools. Inspired by the teacher I worked with there, I fell in love with the idea of becoming an educator.  I went to High Point College on a teaching assistant scholarship.  I finished in four years, working during the day and going to school at night.  Upon receiving my elementary education degree, I continued to work at the same Thomasville school as an exceptional children preschool teacher. Later, I was "promoted" to kindergarten.

I taught in Randolph County for 10 years before moving to Rockingham County. I taught at the elementary level until moving to administration six years ago as assistant principal at Reidsville Middle School.

I am excited about my new position as principal of Huntsville Elementary School and look forward to getting to know all members of the Huntsville family.

Assistant Principal, Ms. Jennifer Hardin

Mrs. Hardin   Education and Experience:
I graduated from UNC Greensboro with my bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Social Studies and Math and began teaching 7th grade math in Greensboro.  I taught both pre-algebra and algebra.  I was chosen as Guilford County’s Rookie Teacher of the Year and began working on my master's degree in Middle Grades math shortly after that.  I spent a year as a teacher on loan to UNC Greensboro as their Master Teacher in Residence on a one year appointment with the School of Education in 2008-2009.  I completed my Advanced Learner Certification from High Point University and finished my Post Master's Certificate in School Administration in May 2009.  I received my national boards certification in middle grades math in December 2010.  I have recently just completed my Educational Specialist degree in School Leadership and I am currently working on my doctorate in School Leadership. Can you tell that I love to learn?

Family:
My husband Josh and I have one son named Ben. We enjoy playing outside, walking our dog, and visiting family in Mississippi and Alabama.  We love the time that we get to spend together as a family.

I am so excited to continue working with the Huntsville family!
