It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the principal of Moss Street Elementary for the 2012-2013 school year. Prior to coming to Moss Street, I was an assistant principal at Reidsville High School and a Curriculum Facilitator for Guilford County Schools. During my career, I have taught kindergarten through seventh grade for Caswell and Guilford County Schools. Through my educational pursuits, I have obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, a Master of Science degree in Reading and Secondary Education and a second Master of Science degree in School Administration from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
I believe that education is the key to success. Students who receive a good education will be productive citizens that will be an asset to their community and themselves. In order for students to receive a good education, there must be a collaboration of stakeholders. Therefore, my administrative philosophy is that all students are capable of learning with the support of administration, teachers, parents, and the community.
At Moss Street, we are committed to teaching the whole child, academically and socially. Our goal is that our students will make favorable choices. We would like for the parents of Moss Street to please support our school by becoming an active member in our Parent Teacher Organization, volunteer in a classroom or a school event. We solicit input from all individuals, groups and organizations that believe in putting children first. I look forward to serving the Moss Street family this school year and in years to come.
