Before and After School Programs are available in the Rockingham County Schools. In the Reidsville zone, the Reidsville YMCA provides this service. In the Eden zone, the Eden YMCA provides this service. If you live in these zones, please call your local YMCA for more information. For the county and western zones, Rockingham County Schools provides before and after school programs through a program called the Kids’ Companion Program. The Kids Companion Program provides a safe environment for school-age children starting with age 5. Parents interested in having their student in grade 6 travel back to a Kid's Companion Program in one of the schools listed below can do so provided a bus from the middle school returns to the elementary school. The program gives each child the opportunity to participate in enrichment, homework assistance, and recreational activities for the appropriate age level. Kids Companion Staff - Site specialists and lead teachers are available on-site to work with families
- Staff/child ratio does not exceed 1:15
- All staff members are certified in CPR and First Aid

Kids Companion Hours of Operation The Kids Companion Program operates from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm each school day. It is also open on teacher workdays and makes every effort to open when school is closed due to inclement weather. The Kids Companion Program also provides a summer camp program.
