    • RCS Boasts 975 21st Century Classrooms
    • All RCS' full-time, certified staff are provided laptops
    • In the fall of 2012, all RCS high schools students, grades 9-12, will be provided a Google Chromebook (laptop)
    • RCS was featured in District Administration magazine for implementing an online identity management program
    • RCS' Class of 2012 had a record breaking $18.1 million in Scholarship Offerings
    • Positive Behavior Intervention Systems Program Awards -  Green Ribbon Schools: Huntsville Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Central Elementary, Holmes Middle, Dillard Elementary, SCORE Center, Reidsville Middle;  Model Ribbon Schools -  South End Elementary, Douglass Elementary
    • 2012 Reidsville High Robotics Team - top 1% worldwide - 14th in nation - ranked #1 in NC; Team consists of students who are members of the district's only International Baccalaureate Program
    • 2011 Piedmont Triad Education Consortium Signature Schools award - Williamsburg Elementary and New Vision School  
    • 2011 North Carolina State University Inspirational Teacher Award - Peter Williams, Morehead High

    • National Society of High School Scholars Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction - Kimberly Thompson-Hairston, Rockingham Early College High
    • Held the 2011 RCS Educator’s Conference with 200+ sessions for employees
    • Gates Millennium Scholarship Recipient - Jacob Buccini, Morehead High
    • NCHSAA Indoor Track 2AA Long Jump State Champion - Courtney Crawford, McMichael High
    • DECA students qualified to compete in the International Career Development Conference - Tyler King, Rockingham County High; Annie Kate Smith, Anthony Paul, Kyle Weekly and Fortune Jones, Morehead High
    • The EV (Electric Vehicle) team at McMichael High placed 2nd in the North Carolina EV Challenge and was featured in the June 2012 issue of “5.0 Mustang and Super Fords” magazine
    • RCS Bands and Choirs Score Superiors in the NC Music Educators’ Association Music Performance Adjudication - Holmes Middle Choirs (five choirs), Rockingham County Middle Band (two bands), Morehead High Concert Band, Reidsville High Band, Rockingham County High Choirs (two choirs), Western Rockingham Middle Solos (Cory Lockhart, Mattie Wingfield, Garrett Wilson, Olivia Lusk)
    • McMichael High’s newspaper, “The Phoenix Scope” won awards in 7 out of 8 categories in a statewide contest sponsored by the North Carolina Scholastic Media Association
    • Morehead High School Varsity Science Olympiad team won 4 medals at the North Carolina Science Olympiad Competition
    • The Pride of Morehead High Marching Band won multiple 1st place and Grand Champion Awards from various competitions.
    • The National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project Board of Directors named Rockingham Early College High School (RECHS) the North Carolina Senior Level School of the Year.
    • The class of 2012 earned a record $18,143,947 in scholarship offerings.
