    • RCS Boasts 975 21st Century Classrooms
    • All RCS' full-time, certified staff are provided laptops
    • All RCS high schools students, grades 9-12, are provided a Google Chromebook (laptop) for home and school use (over 4,000)!
    • Rockingham County Schools is one of only seven school districts in the state to receive an “A” from NC Transparency (nctransparency.com)! NC Transparency was created by the John Locke Foundation in an effort to encourage transparency among North Carolina’s governmental entities.
    • RCS four-year cohort graduation rate has increased from 75.5 percent in 2014 to 81.7 percent in 2015. Of particular note, the RCS four-year cohort graduation rate was 65.8 percent in 2008. That represents an increase of 15.9 percentage points.
    • Amanda Bell, RCS Board of Education vice-chair, was named to the Honorary All-State School Board by the North Carolina School Boards Association (NCSBA).
    • McMichael High’s School Resource Officer, Shane Woodall, was named the National SRO of the Year by the National Association of School Resource Officers.
    • Rockingham County High Women's Golf Team won the 3A State Championship.
    • Positive Behavior Intervention Systems Program Awards - Green Ribbon Schools: Reidsville High, Wentworth Elementary and Rockingham Early College High School; Model Ribbon Schools - Williamsburg Elementary, The SCORE Center, Moss Street Elementary; Exemplar Banner Status: Bethany Elementary, Central Elementary, Draper Elementary, Huntsville Elementary, Dillard Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Monroeton Elementary, South End Elementary, Reidsville Middle and Western Rockingham Middle School.
    • Students named to the North Carolina Honors Chorus: Katelyn Sarwi – Bethany Elementary, Riley Hawkins - Bethany Elementary, Chelsea Nichols - South End Elementary, Victoria Nichols - South End Elementary, Mary Beam - Holmes Middle, Grace Barrios - Rockingham County Middle, Cason Pyrtle - Rockingham County Middle, Garrett Wilson - McMichael High, Mattie Wingfield - McMichael High and Aviana Lindsay - Rockingham County High
    • Students named to participate in the All-Carolina Select Choir: David Penn - McMichael High,  Bryan Pyrtle - Rockingham County High, Carlyrae Presnell - Rockingham County High and Justin Holt - Rockingham Early College High 
    • Morehead High Wrestling Team - NCHSAA 3A State Dual Team Champions.
    • Ben Bullins won the NCHSAA 3A individual wrestling state championship in the 170 lb. weight class.
    • Kathryn Davis, Rockingham County Schools’ Physical Therapist, has received a 2016 Distinguished Service Award from the Exceptional Children’s Division of the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI).
    • McMichael High VEX Robotics team won the State Championship and will compete in the VEX World Championship.
    • Morehead High VEX Robotics team won the Winner of Excellence in the State Championship VEX Robotics Competition and will compete in the VEX World Championship.
