Ten students at Dillard Elementary from grades three through five were selected to participate in an after school enrichment program sponsored by Madison Presbyterian Church. These children who received permission from their parents to attend the program get help with homework, tutoring for their subject needs, and spiritual enrichment. During the month of December these students and their parents were invited to attend an open house at the church so that they could view the church, meet the staff of the Chapman Club and ask questions about the program.
The children get transportation to Madison Presbyterian Church where they receive a snack, an enrichment activity, and help with their homework everyday they attend the program. The goal of the Chapman Club is to provide children with a safe environment in which to help them better achieve their education goals while instilling a self confidence to succeed in life both academically and spiritually. The members of the Chapman Club are committed in helping each child obtain these goals. This program runs from January through May, every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
