Monroeton offers an enriching educational experience for the children. We follow the Common Core that can be accessed at www.ncpublicschools.org. Classroom teachers collaborate weekly around student achievement and plan instruction that allows students to make connections as they apply the new knowledge. Highly qualified teachers enhance the curriculum through experiences in art education, physical education and music education. Children have access and use technology daily both inside and outside of the classroom. Monroeton has an impressive inventory of enrichment software, two full computer labs, and web based programs that enhance the child’s learning experience. We are proud of our character education program and have been recognized by the district for being an outstanding character education school. Students in all grades participate in special service projects through out the year such as helping elderly individuals, participating in environmental programs, sponsoring blood mobiles, collecting canned food items, and helping support community organizations.
Monroeton also offers a variety of after school enrichment opportunities for students with our art club, ecology club, and drama club. The staff at Monroeton Elementary is committed to do “whatever it takes” to educate, inspire and develop the uniqueness of each child.
