What is the contact information for the Head Start Program? 

Parents or guardians interested in enrolling a child in Head Start should contact the Office at 1-336-548-4780 during the hours of 8:00-5:00 pm, Monday - Friday.

What is Head Start?  

Head Start is a Federal program that promotes the school readiness of children from birth to age five from low income families by enhancing their cognitive, social and emotional development. Head Start Programs seek to help build relationships with families that support family well-being and to increase parent's skills, attitudes, and knowledge, which in turn could lead to positive gains in children's development. 

Does Rockingham County Schools have a Head Start Program?  Yes. Rockingham County Schools Early Learning Head Start Program has 11 classrooms that serve 198 students across the county.  The Rockingham County Schools Early Learning Head Start Center is located at 705 Ayersville Road, Madison, NC 27205.
