Rockingham County Schools pairs with Rockingham County Public Libraries to help students check out library materials. This is available at all Rockingham County Public Libraries and the Bookmobile. You will need your child's student ID/lunch number for check out. This is a great way to find a variety of books for your child to enjoy.

Did you know!? Rockingham County Public Libraries pairs with Rockingham County Schools  to help students be able to check out library materials.  A student can use their Student ID number/lunch number to check out a book. There are NO fines if materials are turned in late. Library materials check out for two weeks. Students can also use their lunch numbers to use the computers! This is available in any Rockingham County Library branch and the Rockingham County bookmobile.
Reading Log Reminder: All reading logs with 35 books read are due to your child’s teacher by Friday, October 25th. To be able to participate in this incentive, your child must have a reading log turned in by the due date. Incentive on November 1st: Bring Your Own Tech Day/Board Game Day

Thank you all so much for your support throughout this week for our Book Fair. Remaining family shop hours are tonight from 5:00-7:00 and Friday morning from 7:20-7:45. Your child will have one more opportunity on Friday to shop during their grade level time if they bring money. The book fair will close at 11:20 for clean up.

September 2 - 6 updates. September 2nd no school, Tuesday September 3rd wear red, Wednesday, September 4th wear blue, Thursday, September 5th wear yellow and Friday, September 6th wear orange.
We enjoyed meeting our newest mustangs on Thursday at our Kindergarten Open House. Thank you to our wonderful PTO for hosting the “popsicles on the playground” meet and greet alongside Open House.

Please see Monroeton Elementary's K-5 Reading Incentive. All K-5 students can participate in this incentive during each 9 weeks. We have planned four exciting incentives to get students excited about reading. The goal is to read and log 35 books per nine weeks at home and return the reading log to your child's teacher. Please note, to participate in the fourth incentive, Book Bash Water Day, students must reach all four incentives. Incentive dates and celebrations: August 26 -October 25 Celebration #1: November 1 Bring Your Own Tech/Board Games October 28 - January 17 Celebration #2 : January 24 Indoor Field Day January 19 - March 21 Celebration #3: March 26 Show or Movie Day March 28 - May 23 *Students must meet all four goals to attend this incentive Celebration #4: TBD (June) Book Bash Water Day
