Dear Parents/Guardians:
Thank you for an excellent year at Rockingham County High School. Graduation is an exciting and happy time for all of us. This is a big day, and our students deserve a graduation ceremony they may take pride in now and throughout their lives.
We are asking all graduates, family members and guests to please keep the following guidelines in mind:
No bags or pocketbooks, leave all personal items in the vehicle to speed up the entry process
Show respect for all graduates
Applaud politely for each graduate
Limit cheers so every graduate's name is heard by all attendees
Remain seated during the entire ceremony
Remain quiet in keeping with the solemnity of the occasion
For safety and security reasons, and to keep the focus on our graduates, guests will not be allowed to bring the following items into the graduation:
Duffel bags
Fanny packs
Backpacks
Balloons
Air horns
Noisemakers
RCS, in cooperation with local law enforcement, will provide security at all RCS graduations. Our goal is to allow our students and their families to enjoy this special day without distractions. For this reason, we reserve the right to search all bags, including camera bags, as you enter the facility.
Please keep in mind that individuals who interrupt the proceedings or don't follow guidelines may be asked by the appropriate officials to leave the facility.
Thank you for your support over the years, and thank you for allowing us to serve you and your family. We know our graduates will leave RCS prepared to succeed in higher education or in the career of their choice.
Sincerely,
Russell Vernon
