In an effort to raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving, Rockingham County High School hosted Prom Promise, a powerful live-action crash scenario. This event is designed to educate students about the real-life consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, especially on prom night.
The simulation featured a full-scale emergency response from local agencies, including the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina Highway Patrol, Rockingham County EMS, multiple fire departments, and a Life Flight helicopter.
RCS would like to thank all agencies and the RCHS SADD for making this educational and potentially life-saving assembly possible!!

Yesterday, the NC-961/Rockingham County High School AFJROTC Color Guard Team was invited to perform as the Color Guard for the Presentation of the Colors during the NC Legislative "Opening Day" 2025. They did an "Outstanding Job" and were incredibly prepared by coming into practice even though the school had been canceled due to the Weather Event that hit the area and state over the weekend. It displays their dedication to themselves, their school, their unit, and their community. We are extremely proud of the commitment and duty they showed during this event and throughout their time these last 2-3 years they have been a part of NC-961 and Rockingham County High School.
The following Cadets were a part of this team:

Cadet Bella Johnson (US Flag)
Cadet Kaylie Ratcliffe (NC Flag)

On January 8, 2025 we held our first #Play4Kay event against the Reidsville Rams to support the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. In total, we raised around $1,300.00! With three games and a gym filled with friends, family, and fans, we honored the courageous women in our community who have fought the battle against cancer.
We would also like to give a special thank you to Coach Jennifer King, a brand ambassador for Kay Yow Cancer Fund, a Reidsville native and current coach with the Chicago Bears. We want to thank her for all of her support to our local community and to the Rockingham County High School Basketball Program. She and her family made an appearance at the event and spoke to our fans.
Our online donation link will stay live until the end of January. If you would like to help us continue this fight, please consider donating online at the following link.
