Title I - Information
The annual meeting will be held during our Fall Festival on Thursday, October 16 from 5:00-7:00 PM.
We will be holding additional Title 1 events in the winter/spring.
Our School Improvement team meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month in the school library at 3:15 PM.
Things to Know About Title I Schools
At South End, our strong sense of community is key to student success. The support between teachers, families, and community members helps us create a positive and successful learning environment.
We are proud to be a Title I school, which means we receive federal funding to support students and improve academic achievement.
What is Title I?
Title I provides extra support for schools with a high number of students receiving free or reduced lunch. These funds help us give students the resources they need to succeed in reading, math, and more.
Parent Involvement Matters
We believe parents are essential partners in education. That’s why we:
Share updates through newsletters, student planners, folders, report cards, our school website, phone calls and more.
Host an Annual Title I Meeting at the start of the year to explain how the program works and how parents can be involved.
Encourage participation in our School Improvement Team and Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO).
Ask all families to sign a Student-Teacher-Parent Compact – a shared commitment to support student learning.
Offer workshops, flexible meeting times and family events to build strong home-school connections.
Resources for Families
Our Title I Parent Handbook will be sent home in your child’s planner and is also available online and in our school office.
We connect families with resources from our teachers, EC, ESL, support staff and community programs.
