The Read Around Latin America: A Hispanic Heritage Literacy Night will take place on October 16, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The evening will begin at 6:00 pm in the classroom with a teacher presentation and suggestions for helping students at home. At 6:15 pm, students will travel across the campus to visit each country (grade level) and enjoy fun exhibits. At 7:00 pm, there will be a Kindergarten and first-grade music program. The Book Fair will also be open for shopping from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. This is a free family event celebrating reading, culture, and fun. Families are asked to return the bottom portion of the flyer to classroom teachers by October 9, including the student’s name, grade, and number of attendees.

On Friday April 4th, we had the privilege of showcasing our SPLASH program to Representative Virginia Foxx, Senator Phil Berger, Representative Reece Pyrtle, Dr. Stover, and other local dignitaries.
I take great pride in our program, and it was a wonderful opportunity to highlight the achievements of Stoneville Elementary.

Our dental clinic is hosting a children' dental health expo next Thursday, March 27! This bilingual event is completely free for all children and their families, and it includes educational activities and giveaways to take home. The event will be going on 8:30am-4:00pm at the Governmental Center, and no RSVP is required.
Also, there is a LIMITED number of appointment slots available for children 18 and under who don't have any form of dental insurance but are in need of dental services. Appointments MUST be scheduled in advance of the event. Families can call 336-342-8273 to inquire about appointments or to learn more.

Rockingham County Schools will be hosting the 32nd annual Elementary All -County Chorus at Western Rockingham Middle School tonight at 6pm and the doors will be open at 5:30pm. There is no cost for admission, but donations are accepted and greatly appreciated. Students from elementary schools all across Rockingham County have been working very hard preparing for this amazing event. Under the direction of Dr. Brett Nolker and accompanied by Ed Spencer, students will work together to transform 5 pieces of music into a beautiful performance for the community to enjoy.

As a reminder the 15th Annual Catch the Reading Bug Community Reading Festival is Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 9 am - 2pm at Rockingham County Middle School!

📢 School Operations for February 21, 2025 📢
RCS will operate on a 3-hour delay for all students, staff will operate on a 2-hour delay. Childcare services will operate on their normal schedule.
