A Letter from our Principal

Dear Central Families,

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! I am pleased to  have the opportunity to serve as the principal of Central Elementary school this upcoming school year!! I am excited to grow and learn with you as we continue to meet the educational needs of our students. I look forward to a year of building great relationships with the students, staff, parents, and community in order to provide our students excellent learning opportunities. Our students, staff and families worked diligently last year and showed growth academically, socially, and emotionally. We will continue to work just as hard this year by building strong relationships and setting high expectations for all students. We believe every child can and will grow and we promise to do our very best to provide them with excellent opportunities to do so. I look forward to seeing the many ways all of our students will excel in the 2025-2026 school year.

At Central, it is our job to Engage, Educate and Empower EVERY student everyday. We believe that to carry out this vision we must meet every child where they are and focus on all of their needs- emotional, social, and academic. We will continue our focus on Social Emotional Learning this year along with the continued learning of academic standards and skills.

We will also continue to make safety a top priority as we go into the 2025-2026 school year. While we are excited to welcome parents and visitors into our building, we want to remind you that we will be diligent in monitoring to ensure student safety. Please review our visitors policy and help us keep our staff and students safe.

I ask that you take the time to read the Student & Title I Handbook and the RCS Handbook to familiarize yourself with our procedures and protocols. Parent support is extremely important for our school’s overall success and I encourage each and every parent to fully invest in their child’s education this school year. We respect the need for close communication and hope that you will stay closely connected with us through teacher communication, by accessing our school’s website at https://rockinghamcsnc.sites.thrillshare.com/o/ces and other communication outlets. Also, don’t hesitate to call our front office if you have any questions or concerns. You can reach me by phone, through Class Dojo, or email.  We look forward to your partnership on this educational journey. Enjoy the start to the year and  WELCOME BACK!

Educationally Yours,

Lauryn Duncan, Principal
