Activities & Clubs
Below are the clubs and after school activities available for Central's students.
Information and applications for activities are available in the office.
Student Council: Open to all students in grades third through fifth. Students will meet monthly to discuss concerns and needs around the school. Fourth and fifth grade students will have the opportunity to run for student body representatives.
Battle of the Books: Open to all students in fourth and fifth grade. This club is for all students who have a love for reading and jeopardy style games. Students on this team commit to reading the North Carolina Battle of the Books novels that have been pre-selected by the state of NC. There are roughly 15 books each year. Students will meet weekly to read books, memorize the book titles and author's names, and work on trivia questions in preparation for the district competition in mid-February. See Mrs. Holt for questions and more information.
Intramural Volleyball: Open to all students in fourth and fifth grade. There will be a fee to join the league to cover the cost of a team shirt for each student. The competitions will take place on Thursday afternoons from 2:45 - 4:00. See Mr. Pratt for questions and more information.
Good News Club: Osborne Baptist Church operates an after school club known as Good News Club as part of their local missions. Students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to attend. Students who stay after school can participate in a Bible-based lesson, sing songs, play games, and eat snacks. The program is designed to teach moral values and spiritual growth for elementary aged students.
