Good evening, Sharks! Here are some updates to get us started this year!  Monday, August 19th our teachers will be back in the building for our first required teacher workday! Thursday, August 22nd- We will host our Open House from 3-7 PM. Kindergarten students can sign up through this Sign-up Genius link if they would like their rising Kindergarten student to complete the Kindergarten screener early, prior to staggered entry days.  Saturday, August 24th- We will be at the Reidsville Walmart for the RCS Stuff the Bus event. Come by and see us.  Monday, August 26th- This is our first day of school!  Keep in mind that Kindergarten students will attend school on their assigned staggered entry day (Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday) of the first week. Thursday, August 29th, will be a Kindergarten ONLY teacher workday. On this workday, our Kindergarten teachers work to create their final class rosters. Kindergarten parents will be contacted by their official teacher on August 29th. ALL KINDERGARTEN students will return to school on Friday, August 30th.  Shout out to PTA for a great first skate night and to all those who came out to support. Don't forgot to stop by the PTA table at Open House to check them out! We are happy to let you know that we are a CEP school again this year, meaning that all of our students eat breakfast and lunch for free! Students are welcome to pack lunch, however, please keep in mind that all students eat for free! Lunch menus are available on the RCS and Moss Street Website. We are so very excited to announce that this year, Moss Street will host YMCA afterschool Care. This is a great option for parents that work afterschool and are seeking childcare. The program provides a snack, physical activity and help with homework. Please use the following link to sign up! The YMCA will be set up at Open House and families will have the opportunity to sign up there as well.  https://tinyurl.com/3sudeh2w   You will receive lots of important information at Open House. One of these items will be a handout regarding our county's Volunteer Policy. Please read this policy so that you are aware of expectations of our volunteers.  If you haven’t signed up for bus transportation for the upcoming school year, and will need it, please visit the RCS website and use the transportation sign up link. Due to the inclement weather from Tropical Storm Debby, Rockingham County Schools will be closed today, August 9th. Day care will be open and operate on schedule. All athletics and school activities can resume at 12:00pm today.

RCS will operate on our normal schedule with no closings, delays or cancellations for August 9th. All school activities and athletics will operate on their normal schedule as well.

In anticipation of hazardous weather conditions from Tropical Storm Debby and out of an abundance of caution, all Rockingham County Schools will be closed Thursday, August 8th. All school activities, child care, and summer feeding & meal distributions are cancelled as well.

Alert Now Message - 8-6-24: Hello all! Here are some summer updates for you! Summer Office Hours- Our offices are open during the summer from 8 am- 4:00 pm Monday- Thursday. Tonight, August 6th- Reidsville Elementary Options meeting at our school at 6:30 pm Aug. 15- PTA Skate Night from 4-6 at the Roll-About in Eden! Don’t forget to check out the PTA table at Open House! RCS and our government, business and community partners welcomed DOE Secretary Jennifer Granholm who announced a grant award of $7.8 million for our RCS energy efficiency and improvement projects!
