Please join us in our annual Winter Break Countdown during the month of December. Each day we'll dress up for a little holiday fun!

This Thanksgiving, let's give thanks for the teachers who inspire us, the staff who support us, the parents & guardians who guide us and the students who light up our schools. Together, we make a difference every day. 🦃 Grateful for our RCS families & team! Happy Thanksgiving!!

Fifth grade students wrote thank you letters to our soldiers this week during media. The letters will be delivered to Purina. They'll be packed inside care packages that will be sent to our soldiers overseas this holiday season 🖤

The Great Turkey Race read aloud and STEM activity was so much fun this past week! Mrs. Johnston's class did shared reading activities and then a STEM challenge where students created obstacle courses for a turkey run with a starting line, finish line, and 3-5 obstacles. The kids really showed their creativity on their obstacle courses! The groups made portfolio videos on Dojo to explain their obstacle course.

Ms. Doyle's first grade class was investigating pumpkins. They estimated how many seeds were going to be in the big pumpkin and dug them out and counted them by 10’s. They wrote about how they looked, felt, and smelled. They also practiced non-standard measurement and measured the diameter with links and the height with unifix cubes.

Pumpkin Investigation Day!
Mrs. Johnston's class investigated the outside of the pumpkins, measured the height and length, investigated the insides of the pumpkins , counted seeds, designed jack-o'-lantern faces, observed carving, and had a great time! They will use their pumpkins to decompose in a container and watch it all year and transfer the plants to the flower bed in the back of the school and maybe continue the cycle next year!!
