Walmart of Eden came by and presented Mrs. Hooker, Douglass Elementary's Teacher of the Year, with a gift for Teacher Appreciation Week. What a special surprise!

From 3rd graders enjoying recess together, to 4th graders taking pride in keeping our campus clean, to 5th graders stepping up to help in the cafeteria—our students showed that being healthy means caring for ourselves, each other, and our school community.
So proud of these everyday acts of teamwork, responsibility, and kindness!

Selected student artists will have their work on display from 5:00–7:00pm at Reidsville High School. Come out to support these talented participants and enjoy an inspiring showcase of student artwork.
Again, congratulations to those students who were selected to have their artwork displayed!

Last Week, Kindergarten celebrated their 3rd nine weeks Books and Beyond reading incentive with Kona Ice!

Congratulations to our Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Tracey Hooker and our Classified Employee of the Year, Mr. Chad Bailey! We are so proud to have them as part of the Douglass family!

Check out all the amazing costumes we saw yesterday!

Each day, ten of our amazing 5th graders visit our Functional Skills (FS) classrooms to spend time interacting, playing, and building friendships with the FS students. These moments are more than just playtime—they are opportunities for students to learn from one another, practice kindness, and build a stronger, more inclusive school community. We are so proud of the compassion, leadership, and positivity these students bring as they model what it means to truly support one another! #togetherweSOAR

We have rescheduled our First Semester Awards Day! 🎉
Please join us on Friday, February 20 as we celebrate our amazing students.
🔔 Reminder: All guests attending must have a valid ID for entry.
We can’t wait to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of our students with you!

You earned this by living out our SOAR expectations each day—Showing Respect, Observing Safety, Allowing Learning, and Remembering Responsibility. We are so proud of your positive choices and hard work. Keep SOARing! 🌟🦅

We are so thankful for all these third graders who have chosen to spread kindness throughout school this week!

Let's celebrate kindness! These students were caught showing kindness by one of their teachers and were recognized on our morning announcements this morning.

What a wonderful final week before heading into holiday break!
