Elementary Battle of the Books (EBOB) is a statewide reading program sponsored by the North Carolina School Library Media Association for students in grades 4–5. Participants read a selected list of engaging books and work as a team to answer quiz-style questions that test their knowledge of characters, plots, and details. The program encourages a love of reading, strengthens comprehension skills, and builds teamwork and confidence in a fun, supportive environment.
Team members are required to memorize the list of book titles and authors. Practices are currently held after school so the student must have reliable transportation.

Garden Club is open to 2nd and 3rd grade students and focuses on teaching kids how to grow and care for vegetables and herbs, give back to the community by donating produce when possible, and learn about healthy eating and organic gardening. The club meets from September through December and again from April through June, with 2nd graders meeting on the first Wednesday of each month and 3rd graders meeting on the third Wednesday. All meetings take place after school, so students will need reliable transportation.
