Make-up Exams

Counting High School EOC Exam scores as part of the Final Grade -

As in previous years, EOC test raw scores will be converted to a 100-point scale. This score will count as 20% of the student’s final course grade.

Grades for Math I and Math III will be available shortly after testing is completed. However, due to the written response component in the English II exam, grading may take up to two weeks. If scores are not available in time, students enrolled in English II will receive an Incomplete (I) on their report cards until results are finalized.

Please note that Biology scores will be delayed this year due to a statewide re-norming of the exam.

Daily Schedule -

All End-of-Course (EOC) and End-of-Grade (EOG) exams must be taken on campus using a school-issued Chromebook. After testing, SCORE students who choose to leave may do so by following the school’s regular early checkout procedures. Day Treatment students are expected to remain at school for the remainder of the day. Bus transportation will run on the normal dismissal schedule for all Rockingham County students.

Students are not permitted to visit any other Rockingham County Schools campuses on exam days. Per Board Policy 4302, students found on other campuses may be subject to trespassing charges.

It is important that your student is present at school during their scheduled testing sessions. Students who arrive after a testing session has begun will not be allowed to join and will be required to make up the exam at a later date.  Please note that if a student misses school on a testing day, the absence will be recorded as such.

Inclement Weather -

If school is canceled, testing will resume (or begin) on the next full day of school. In the event of a 1- or 2-hour delay, Rockingham County Schools will make an official announcement to inform parents and students whether testing will proceed as scheduled.

If you have any questions about your child’s testing schedule or requirements, please reach out to their teacher, guidance counselor, or principal.

Sincerely,

Matthew S. Rice, M.Ed
