Christy Albertson, Principal

Mrs. Christy Albertson spent most of her childhood in Reidsville, NC. and is a proud graduate of Rockingham County High School. Mrs. Albertson earned her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Southern Wesleyan University. Furthermore, Albertson earned her Masters of Education in Educational Administration and Supervision from Liberty University.

Christy has been an educator for twenty-three years with fifteen years at Rockingham County Schools. She began her teaching career as a Kindergarten Teacher in Youngsville, NC before accepting a position in Walnut Cove, NC. Mrs. Albertson began her career at Rockingham County Schools as a Kindergarten teacher at Wentworth Elementary School. She also taught 1st and 2nd grade at the same school. She served as the Instructional Coach at Leaksville-Spray Elementary School in Eden, and most recently as the Assistant Principal at South End and Moss Street.

Principal Albertson says, “I am overjoyed and honored to have been selected to serve as principal in the town I called home as a student. I look forward to working with the faculty, staff, and the community to provide our students with an elementary school experience that will prepare them to perform well in middle school and become lifelong learners. ”

Mrs. Albertson is married to Tommy Albertson with whom she shares three wonderful children, Andrew (21), Olivia (17) and Ava (14).
