We LOVED seeing all of you today at OPEN HOUSE! We are excited for another great a school year!

This past Saturday, RCMS was a ServeNC site and we welcomed wonderful people to our campus who helped us to count and deliver workbooks (over 5,000 total) to our English Language Arts (ELA) classrooms. What a blessing!
Thank you to Life Community Church in Jamestown for serving our sweet school!
See you all in just ONE WEEK for Open House! 🐾

RCMS District Science Fair Update
We are excited to share that at the District Science Fair held on December 4, 2025, two of our 6th graders, McKinley and Olivia, from Mr. Atkins’ science class, earned 3rd place in the Chemistry division!
Their project, “Which Kind of Popcorn Pops Best?”, impressed the judges with its creativity, scientific investigation, and clear presentation.
Congratulations to McKinley and Olivia for their hard work and outstanding achievement! We are proud of you both.

The RCMS Yearbook staff is so thrilled to continue our Yearbook Angel program again this year. This program was HUGELY successful last year. Because of you and our wonderful community, we were able to purchase 25 additional copies of the yearbook to give to our students in need. We saw students completely break down in tears of joy because they received their VERY FIRST EVER copy of a school yearbook. It is a truly beautiful experience to be able to do this for our students!
Please see the information below and share with your families/friends on social media, dojo, church, community groups or wherever else you see fit. Physical flyers will be coming home with students this week as well if you would like to personally sponsor a student and be recognized in our list of Yearbook Angels. We hope to see this program grow every year that we do it!
Yearbook Angels are everywhere

I watched Connor slide a stapled packet of notebook paper across the table to the girls in his art class. One of them picked it up abruptly and flipped it over, inspecting it.
“What’s this? Am I supposed to sign this?”
He shyly moved to retrieve it, but Shelby reached in to intercept.
“I’ll sign it,” she said cheerfully, “and will you sign mine?” she asked as she placed her shiny yearbook in his hand.
After both had placed their sentiments on the pages and returned them to their owners, Shelby got up and came to my desk. She leaned in and whispered, “Are there any more yearbooks?”
I knew why she was asking. Shelby had always been the bright spot of the room and had always shown so much compassion and understanding for her seventh grade classmates. It broke my heart to tell her no.
At that moment I knew we could have done better. Next year would be different. Next year, there would be angels.

The Reidsville Lion's Club invited RCMS art students to participate in their annual Peace Poster Contest. This contest is international with middle school students around the world designing posters centered around a common theme. This year's theme is, "Together as One". At RCMS 7th grader Sadie Strader placed 1st, 7th grader Holly Johnson placed 2nd, and 8th grader Rhowan Finney placed 3rd. Sadie's poster will go on to the next level of judging in the district. Congrats girls on wonderful designs! A thanks to the Reidsville Lion's Club, Mr. Holcomb, and their president Mr. Popovich for this opportunity for the students.
