Starting Monday March 16th all students of RMS will begin taking part in an adjusted schedule with intensive Intervention and Enrichment groups. Please encourage your students to maximize their time in the building in the last 9 weeks before final exams.
Parents, we have been seeing a lot of energy drinks brought to the building recently by students. Please remember that Energy drinks are not allowed for middle school students.
MACC team will meet Monday 3:30 - 4:30.
Battle of the Books team will meet Thursday 3:30 - 4:30. See Ms. McCormick or Mrs. Hanks to pick up a book.

Auditions for the Reidsville High School Ram Delights dance team and Ram Sensations flag team will begin Monday March 16th at the RHS gym at 4:00. These auditions are for RHS students and Reidsville Middle School 8th graders. Please see Ms.Roach for an audition packet. Those interested must have an up to date physical on file.

On Tuesday March 10th RMS will host a Family Math Night from 5:00 until 6:30 in celebration of Pi day this week. Families can enjoy math themed games and activities.

Tuesday March 3rd will be a remote day for all students at RMS. RMS will be a voting site for the primaries
Spring Sports will kick off with girls volleyball and girls soccer both being at home on Monday March 2nd.
There will be an interest meeting for Reidsville High School Ram Delights dance team March 2nd at 3:10pm in the cafeteria. This interest meeting is open to 8th graders only. Auditions will be March 16th-19th at Reidsville High School. Please come out to learn more about our team.
Upcoming Title I Math Family Night Tuesday, March 10th. Flyers will be coming home this week, please RSVP before Friday. There will also be a RSVP form on our Class Dojo. Thank you so much for your support of RMS and we look forward to seeing you on our Math Family Night March 10th.

Tomorrow Monday February 23rd will be picture day for all students and at 2:45 in the afternoon Spring Sports teams will be called to have their picture day.
Parents of spring sport athletes please make sure you have gotten connected with your Sports Team’s school Dojo page so that you can get all team correspondence and announcements immediately as they happen.
Please remember that this Thursday will no longer be a teacher workday and will instead be a regular school day for students as a makeup for time lost during the snow days. Friday February 27th will still be a teacher workday.
Attention girl’s soccer: In addition to team pictures on Monday, there will still be regular practice and there will be a parent meeting at 5:30 in the cafeteria after practice.

This Thursday the 19th will be Future Raider night from 5:30 until 6:30. Parents of 5th graders coming to RMS next year can come and tour the building and receive information about various aspects of middle school. 6th grade teachers and elective teachers will be on hand.
This week in sports:
Girls soccer tryouts will begin on Wednesday. Track and baseball tryouts will begin on Monday. Baseball tryouts will take place at Jaycee park from 4:00 until 6:00. All students wishing to try out for a spring sport must have an up to date physical on file and must be academically eligible.

Rockingham County Schools will be on a 2 hour delay for students on Monday February 9th which means students will be able to start entering the building at 9:45 in the morning.
On Monday February 9th students will receive their report cards with their grades from 1st semester.
This week students will take their 2nd round of state Check-in testing in their core classes. Parents please encourage your student to try their best so that teachers can have the most accurate data possible for continued planning and preparation.
There will be a spring sports interest meeting later in the week at dates to be determined.
Both High School and middle school information sessions for next year’s registrations will be soon so parents be ready to get information regarding your child’s academic opportunities available for next year.

Tomorrow Thursday January 22nd will be the start of the Second Semester.
Report Card pickup- Title I Night -- Grades, Growth and Goals is currently scheduled for Wednesday January 28th from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm.
The event will include report card pickup, grade level resources and information, and parents can get connected on Canvas to follow academic progress.
Yearbook add purchases are due January 29th.
Yearbook "call for photos" - Please take a moment to upload pictures from this past semester to the QR code on the yearbook flyers around the school. The access code is "LOCKEDIN26". Uploads are open to Students, Staff, and parents. We need photos from Sports events, after-school programs, and student life for yearbook production.
Between now and the middle of February, Dr. Scales will be coming around to conduct brief one on one registration preparation meetings with students during 1st and 2nd period.

The conference wrestling championship tournament was this past weekend and it was one of the best tournaments Reidsville Middle has ever had.

Happy New Year to everyone. Tomorrow, Monday January 5th marks the return to school from Christmas Break. We hope everyone had a happy and restful holiday break with family.
Battle of the Books practice sessions will begin this week. Team members
We will begin preparing for our Black History Program tentatively planned for February 19, 2026. Students interested in participating should complete a Permission Slip and return it to Ms. Cherry by January 16, 2026. Participation by any student is encouraged and will be incentivized with 100 PBIS points and extra credit in your social studies class.
In sports this week
On Monday Basketball will have their final regular season game by playing at home against Rockingham County Middle School.
Wrestling will also be having their final regular season match of the year on Monday when they travel to Rockingham County Middle
Basketball plays will begin on Thursday January 8th. That schedule will be determined following the completion of the regular season.
The Wrestling Conference tournament will take place on Saturday January 10th at Dalton McMichael High School.
Boys Soccer Pot Luck Banquet will be January 7th at 6:30pm. Parents please message the soccer team dojo page what dish you will be bringing.

This message is for parents of rising 9th grade AIG students at Reidsville Middle School. We hope you will join the AIG department at Optimizing the High School Experience for Gifted Students on January 13th at 6pm in the activity room of the Whitcomb Student Center at Rockingham Community College. At this meeting, parents will have the opportunity to become more aware of AIG services and opportunities at the high school level. Parents will also have an opportunity to visit information tables and ask questions about specific options. We hope that you will be able to attend this meeting, and we look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, January 13.

The Reidsville Middle School Academic Challenge team will compete for the county championship on Friday at Rockingham Community College.
The 7th Grade field trip that was scheduled for this week will be rescheduled for after Christmas break.

This week school will only be in session on Monday and Tuesday as Thanksgiving Break will begin on Wednesday and run through the rest of the week.
In sports this week Basketball hosts Dillard on Monday and Wrestling will travel away to Dillard on Tuesday.
Monday is Hat day at RMS. Students will be able to pay $1 to wear a head covering. This does include hoodies.
Monday will also be the PBIS incentive field day to reward the students with good behavior during the 1st quarter.
Tuesday students will be able to buy a Grateful Gram to send to someone that they want to show appreciation for.
Money collected during these PBIS events will go toward providing other events in the near future as we continue to acknowledge the overwhelming majority of our students that have great behavior on a consistent basis.
We hope everyone in Raider Nation has a great week full of fellowship and family.

We would like to send out a special thank you to our neighbors Reidsville Christian Church for blessing us with their fellowship and service this past Saturday. Members of the church spent several hours at the school taking part in projects that continue to help make our school a more welcoming environment for students and staff. Pictures of the cleanup and maintenance work that took place will be sent out on Dojo and Facebook soon.
This week state Check-ins exams will be taking place all week at school.

We first want to take a moment to send out appreciation for all our Raider Family members that are now or have in the past been in service to our country. We hope all Raider families have been able to enjoy this long weekend together and been able to have a moment of thanks for our veterans who protect our nation.
This week is just a 3 day week and basketball and wrestling will have practices but games will not commence until Monday November 17th.
The week of November 17th through the 21st the whole school will be taking part in the first round of state check-in testing.

This is a friendly reminder that all permission forms and field trip fees for our trip on Friday, November 7th are due tomorrow. If your child has not yet turned in their form and payment, please make sure both are submitted by the end of the day tomorrow.
Attention all DRAMA CLUB Students:
Drama Club Meeting will convene on Wednesday, Nov. 5 from the time school is dismissed to 5:00 pm. This is a mandatory meeting. Upon dismissal from last class, students will meet in the Media Center and transition to the Chorus Room.
Parents, please provide transportation or plan for pick-up at 5:00 pm.

This week school will only be in session for students Monday through Wednesday as we finish up the first quarter. Thursday and Friday and Teacher Workdays.
As we continue Red Ribbon spirit week festivities Monday is Wacky Tacky Day, Tuesday is Rock the Red Carpet (students should dress their best), and Wednesday is Student Teacher swap where students should dress like one of the staff members.
Parents as we get to colder weather please be reminded that NO blankets are allowed in the building due to concerns with health and contamination from insects.
