Rockingham County Schools is required by Session Law 2023-128/HB 14 to provide students in middle and high school before August 29, 2025, information about "Protecting Our Students" in which two videos will be shown. You may access those two videos: RCS Protecting Our Students Video Link - Students will watch two short films produced in the style of a video-blog and covering the topic of inappropriate behavior by an adult. They feature information for students about what the signs might look like and how to report it through either the Say Something - Anonymous Reporting System (SS-ARS) or to a trusted adult.  Students receive training each year at the beginning of the school year on how to use the SS-ARS.

Please read the RCS Parent Info Letter and Opt-Out Option 2025-26 pdf. Return a seperate form for each student in your home to your school administrator by August 25, 2025, if you choose the OPT OUT option.  If you have any questions regarding the requirement of the law or the form, please contact your school administrator.
