The NC Department of Public Instruction released 2025-26 testing and accountability results today after sharing results with the NC State Board of Education. Rockingham County Schools will share highlights of these results at the September 8, 2026 Board of Education meeting. A detailed testing report will be shared with the Board of Education at the October 27, 2026 Board of Education meeting.

RCS Chief of Operations Jason Hyler has compiled a testing infographic that shares each school’s testing results from the 2025-26 year. In addition, a deeper review of the testing summary results (including a look at individual student subgroups and specific subject and grade level performance) can be found at the following NCDPI dashboard.

Superintendent Charles Perkins stated: “Rockingham County Schools overall grade level proficiency improved 4.7 points from the previous year. Almost every grade level and subgroup improved performance from the previous year, however there is more work to be done. Rockingham County stakeholders should celebrate the progress made, but also commit to the additional work needed to prepare our students for success after graduation. While gains and progress are happening, the rate of improvement needs to increase. Working together, we can provide the needed resources for our students and teachers as we strive to be the best option for students in Rockingham County.”
