Fathers join students in Reidsville Elementary's Head Start 1 & 2 classrooms. They're posed as a group together in the middle of the classroom. 15 students and 10 dads are pictured.

Back to school they went!

It was an exciting time at Reidsville Elementary as they celebrated Head Start Awareness Month. Fathers and father figures joined teachers and students in the school's Head Start classrooms last week for "Fathers Love Math."

Head Start is a comprehensive early childhood program that provides tools, resources and opportunities to families so they can be successful and encourage learning.

During the "Fathers Love Math" week, fathers and father figures took part in math-related, hands-on activities. Head Start Director Felicia Jumper says events like this not only build stronger math skills among the young students, but it also builds stronger connections between home and school.

"We believe that when families are engaged, children are more successful. These pictures tell a beautiful story of love, learning, family involvement, and the power of working together!"
